The Flying Squirrel and My Wonderful Cat Misty
One cold dark night my mom and I were curled up in a blanket watching Judge Judy, and she was being very loquacious. When all of a sudden we heard a chittering noise in the kitchen and then something popped out. At first it looked like my kitten Lucky, but Lucky did not have wings to fly with. Then my mom said for me to call Lucky’s mom Misty in to get the Flying Squirrel out of our house. She hopped and she pounced and she bit and finally she had got the Flying Squirrel but it was still not dead, so she gave it to my kitten Lucky so he could finish it off. And he did. He finished the Flying Squirrel off and my mom and I were so happy!
The next day I was very sick and then all of a sudden I felt heavy pressure on my stomach, then I saw Misty. She laid on my stomach and went right to sleep. I was so happy to know that I have a cat that cares about me so much that she just lies down and does not meow for me to pet her. Although I was still sick but I felt a lot better. If any cat was better than Misty it would be a jolt of surprise. When I woke up and went downstairs my mom was crying. I asked her what was wrong and she said, “Have you noticed who is gone?” I replied, “Yes Dad is gone.”The she said, “No Misty is gone!” As I heard those words I burst into tears and could not stop crying for about 5 hours. Then I went outside and searched in the woods and near the train tracks. I called her for an hour and she still did not come.
